Dr. Dimitry Francois is an Ivy League-trained and triple-board certified psychiatrist in general psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and addiction medicine. His expertise lies in the diagnosis and treatment of intricate psychiatric conditions, which encompass late-life depression, bipolar spectrum disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, substance use disorders, and psychiatric manifestations of dementias, among others.
Dr. Francois’ practice focuses on psychopharmacology. He offers medication management evaluations, follow-up visits, and second-opinion consultations. If the need arises, he collaborates with licensed therapists to provide behavioral support. Before starting his private practice, Dr. Francois worked as an Associate Attending Psychiatrist and Site Director of the Medical Student Clerkship at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center, where he received several prestigious awards, including the Physician of The Year Award, The Nancy C.A. Roeske, M.D. Certificate of Recognition for Excellence in Medical Student Teaching, the Geriatric Fellowship Clinical Teaching and Mentorship Award, The Richard A. Herrmann Teaching Award, and the Senior List Award.
Dr. Francois has published extensively in the fields of Psychopharmacology, Electroconvulsive Therapy, and Geriatric Psychiatry. He currently serves as a Voluntary Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and President of the Haitian American Psychiatric Association. Additionally, Dr. Francois is a member of the Selection Committee for the Psychiatry Residency Program at Weill Cornell. He is fluent in English, French, and Haitian Creole.
